Hey there, bros! Our belated writers' contest has finally rolled around! All the information you'll need to know for the contest below, starting with prizes (because let's be honest, everyone wants to know that first.)

There are two sections of prizes--one for reader inserts and one for non-insert writing. You may submit up to two entries to either category, but you can a prize from only one. Reader inserts and non-inserts will be judged according to different rubrics.

MOST IMOPORTANTLY! Here are the two themes available:

THEME ONE:
A time setting in the past... a certain historical period must be named (Classical, Enlightenment, or colonialism period. Must be set in a period not extensively covered by the manga or anime, eg WWII.)

BANNED times periods are listed below:
   The US Revolutionary War
   The Victorian Era, because stereotypes are used far too much, and people generally have one or few opinions of what Victorian England is supposed to be like.
   Anything WWII, because WWII is pretty much what Hetalia is/was. I will not be debated on this issue. Times leading directly up to and after WWII is allowed.

If you write for these time periods, your entry will be automatically disqualified.
If anyone would like to suggest periods to ban, comment below.

THEME TWO:
AUs based off classic novels. These novels should be something along the lines of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Great Gatsby, etc. If you're unsure about a book, let us know! Elements movie adaptations of books are allowed, but must have some elements faithful to the book.

If you are unsure about whether a book is a classic or not, note Keian-nr about it. In fact, to avoid trouble: If you are planning to write for the classic book theme, please send a note to Keian-nr with your book title and author. Then wait for confirmation before you begin writing your piece. If you do not get your book approved, then we will not count your piece.

Feel free to start sending in your chosen books anytime between now and the end of the contest.
